STURGES LOUNGE
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and a host of happy people will celebrate the opening of the Writers Guild Foundation's new library at the Writers Guild of America building on 18 June 2005. In addition to the Billy Wilder Reading Room, Angela Wales Kirgo floated the idea of a lounge named in honor of Preston Sturges. The idea caught on, especially among four wonderful gentlemen, each a renowned writer in his own right: Ron Shelton, Peter Tolan, Blake Edwards and Jim Mullholland. To these four most generous donors, the Sturges family raises a collective glass and rejoices in the result of their munificence: The Preston Sturges Lounge.
